My Most Precious and Eternal Helpmate

I read an awesome talk this morning by President Ezra Taft Benson. It made me reflect on my relationship with you and how I am doing. I know that the Lord has inspired me to do certain things that have really helped our relationship the last nine months. This blog is just one example. It helps me to tell you why I love you, which you need to hear daily. In the past I was not the best at doing that and I am sorry. I find myself looking for the positives in our relationship more than ever before. I am grateful for you and all you do for me. You have really helped me this week to stay more positive. Thank you.

This is some of what I heard and learned. Sundy you are my most precious and eternal helpmate—my eternal companion. You are to be cherished and loved.
President Benson said, "There are only two commandments where the Lord tells us to love someone with all our hearts. The first you are familiar with as the Great Commandment: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” (Matt. 22:37.)
The second commandment to love another with all our hearts is this: “Thou shalt love thy wife with all thy heart, and shalt cleave unto her and none else.” (D&C 42:22; italics added.)
There are only two whom we are commanded to love with all our hearts—the Lord our God, and our wives!
What does it mean to love someone with all our hearts? It means with all our emotional feelings and our devotion. Surely when you love your wife with all your heart, you cannot demean her, criticize her, find fault with her, nor abuse her by words, sullen behavior, or actions.
What does it mean to “cleave unto her”? It means to stay close to her, to be loyal to her, to strengthen her, to communicate with her, and to express your love for her."

I really enjoyed this quote and vow to be better at loving you with all my heart and cleave unto you. Thank you for being my wife and friend. I truely love you with all my heart!!!
